May 2, 2017  is a day that could just go away, it is a day that we dreaded it's arrival for a long time now. The day we would receive the heart breaking news that our racin' Diane had passed. She fought the fight in silence for a long time before she shared the news and asked for prayers because she finally admitted she couldn't do it alone. Our fighter Diane could tear apart a race car, and put it back together in time to get her son back in the race just in time for the green flag to drop. She was a single mom for many years and still gave her son a competitive race car, even taught herself how to work on it to save money. She did all she could do for her children, and grandchildren until she could no more. She loved being at the dirt tracks, she was always there to help out in any way she could even when she felt awful last season. From pushing race cars on the 4 wheeler to having birthday parties at the track in car hauler she was always having fun at the track rain or shine. She loved seeing her son race and he made her proud time and time again. Diane thank you for all the memories, great conversation, track food and for being a true blue racer. Your kindness touched many. You will never be forgotten as the best race mom ever. We love you!

Twin Cities Raceway Park is shining like a new dime.  And the racers are ready to go.  Competition is fierce and so are the consequences sometimes.  Due to an accident during a stock car race a driver had to been transported to the hospital.  An EMS unit would be delayed for about a hour because two units were in service.   The track officials postponed a few of the features scheduled for the eveing just before midnight until a later date.  The heat races for the evening were not slowed down by the clouds of dust.  Visibility had to be zero in turn two.  The spot to be was in the front of the pack to avoid eating dust.  By the start of the features the track officials had the track dust calmed down and the race was on full force.  See Twin Cities Raceway Park's website for official results and dates for make up features.

Rush County has been the home of many great TQ drivers, Tate Martz, Tony Stewart, Leisure brothers, Hankins brothers, Patrick Wolf to mention a few. Rookie Driver Stephen Davis from Rushville, Indiana remembers watching TQ's at the age of 6.  You will find him piloting the #41 TQ as he strives to win the 2017 Rookie of the year award for the UMRA King of the TQ Midgets.

Pictured to the left is Tim Clark and Ralph Lane talking about racing and grandkids.  Sitting on the tailgate is long time Champion (12x) racer Tim Clark. He has racing DNA running deep in his family, even his mom raced.  Racer Ralph's wife use to race.  No doubt these two have a lot to talk about when they find time at the track.  Tim rescued this 1980 beauty from the salvage yard and brought her back to life.  A real show stopper at TCRP!
