Ryan Kent Jr. the VOICE of the BUCKEYE OUTLAW SPRINT SERIES

Roger Williams owner of Williams Precision Engines St. Paul, Indiana started his love for racing with gokarts. And he is another local racer that was inspired by Greensburg's Dick Dwenger. Roger was working for Zimmerman's Speed Shop Greensburg, along with Larry Dwenger when he met Dick Dwenger many years ago. He also remembers Tony Stewart living in Greensburg and dreaming of a racing career while driving for the Dwengers. Those days were long ago but Roger sure has built his own reputation in the racing world. He has had his own success at racing gokarts and stock cars (#32) and building a race shop of 30 years that ships race engines all over the world. One would imagine that Dick Dwenger would be very proud to be able to take credit for giving Roger inspiration.
For 2017 Roger has formed a Silver Crown Racing Team along with Wilbur Wright. The team has a pavement car and a dirt car. Bright green in color and sporting the #32. Columbus Indiana's Joss Moffatt will be the pilot. Joss has three Lawrenceburg Sprint car championships under his belt. Williams hopes to see Moffatt win the Rookie of the Year title this year in the USAC Silver Crown series.
The team has received sponsorship from Lucas Oil, E3 Spark Plugs, Creative Finishing, Total Power Batteries, Momentum Suspension, Line to Line Coatings, COMP Cams and 350 Graphics.
Look for the #32 in front of the pack at the first USAC Silver Crown race of the season on April 2 at the Terre Haute Action Track in Terre Haute.
Williams will be driving his #32 stock car this year at Salem when he can manage to find time.

March Race Fever

Williams Precision Engines

When you hang out at William's Precision Engines in St. Paul you just never know what cool things you are going to find. I wonder what Dick & Larry Dwenger were trying to explain to Ron Combs? This newspaper was July 3, 1989, Roger Williams won the goKart races, Ron Ambrose won the TQ Feature  and John Powers pushed his TQ off the track after a spin. Looks like a little car pile up at the old dirt track too. Good Old Days, Thank you Roger Williams for hangin' on to the paper and sharing.

Ryan is only 18 years old but he has accomplished a lot in his young age.  He started announcing at sporting events when he was a high school freshman. Imagine being so young and announcing for ETC for their television broadcasts. Well, Ryan has accomplished that and more.  More recently you may have heard his voice over the P.A. at the Lawrenceburg Speedway along side of Chad Cunningham during a USAC Sprint event.  Listen to his interview here and you will no doubt hear more from this up and coming voice of sporting events.

The grandstands were almost full at the Brownstown No Way Out 40.  The race fans were watching the sky for the anticipated rain and it did come.  But, not before the start of the Sprint No Way Out 40.  Some say they got about 8 laps in.  The evening was eventful leading up to that point.  Flips, fires and wrecks were part of the action from the Sprints and mods. .  The Tq's only got the heat race in.  Anthony Lawrence rookie of the year 2016 had a good lead until his spare engine gave the crowd a show.  Flames, sparks and smoke and Anthony was done for the evening.  Ron Combs #7 took the heat win.

2016 King of the UMRA King of the TQ Midgets Jason Setser 12s. Maybe not a clean sweep but he did make it a SWEEP! He took 4 out of 5 features of the North/South TQ Midgets Shootout. Kirby Petry #25 won the last race of the Florida Circuit with Setser on his tail finishing 2nd and Matt Hedrick #33 finishing 3rd at Showtime Speedway. The Cure Starts Now Foundation TQ seems to shout, catch me if you can! Setser pictured here at Showtime Speedway with his family and crew. photo Mindy Meyer Setser

Keith Kunz is the mastermind, mentor and  has the team that is hard to beat in the USAC & POWRI Midget world.  Jason Setser rules in the UMRA King of the TQ world and has a lengthy successful racing history.  And, they have a common denominator to their success,  Beau Binder is the Shop Foreman for Keith Kunz Motorsports during the day, and moonlights helping his buddy Jason Setser at Night.  Beau has a racing history also.  Who else to you know that started in gokarts, and jumped from gokarts straight into a Sprint car and won the feature the 3rd night he was in the car?

Beau has  Southwest Sprint car championships under his belt both Sprint & Mini Sprints.  That may be why Jason Setser has confidence in  Beau to pilot The Cure Starts Now Foundation 2016 Champion  King of the TQ's Midget.  He will be the driver  for the season opening  race for the TQ's at Brownstown  March 25, 2017.

Ladies & Gentlemen

Start Your Engines!

Roger Williams is excited to kick off the 2017 race season with his newly formed USAC Silver Crown Race Team. The Williams & Wright (Wilbur) race team has contracted driver Josh Moffatt of Columbus Indiana to pilot the #32 for the 2017 season. Williams Precision Engines is building the dirt and pavement cars in their shop at St. Paul and has made many of the parts right in their own race shop. The old school letters you see in the picture here were actually hand painted on by Joss's father, Billy.   Williams is quick to give many people credit for this dream team and has faith in Joss to take the #32 to the front of the pack!
