Renee Manning track official Twin Cities Raceway Park

Jason Goff must have thought I was stalking him last night at Twin Cities! I had a feeling he would tame the TWIN. And , he did with this feature win that added to the excitement of the event. That had to be the best racin' that I have seen in a long time. I am not much of a sports writer but I will tell you the highlights of the race for me. Nick Speidel was in the lead for most of the race , but he had several on his tail, Matt Arrington, Jason Goff, Jason Setser, Joey Paxson all had it within their reach. Fast track and Fast cars. Setser was getting the job done gaining on Speidel until he spun out going into turn two. He went to the tail and worked his way up to 3rd place at one time, not sure where he finished. I was watching the front of the pack but mostly the tail end, keeping an eye on Rookie Schy Brown (Sky) . At some point in time the crowd burst into excitement and things took a turn to the good for Jason Goff as he took the lead from Speidel! Jason Goff said in a post race interview that it was was a matter of refusing to lose! He had been working the inside but found his line to pass Speidel high on the track. From my view he was super high coming out of turn 1 into two he was flying around the track, Freaky Fast! Although I didn't see his actual pass on Speidel but the crowd was loving real racin' going on. It wasn't a matter of who won or loss at the race it was the appreciation for awesome white knuckle good old fashion racin'. His statement to me was I just wanted to keep going it was so much fun! He complimented Speidel's and Setser's driving abilities and said it was great to be up front with drivers like that but even better to win! Goff's father is 15x UMRA Champion Terry Goff. As for Rookie Brown, he dodged the bullets with several cars spinning in front of him and to avoid one car spinning out he brazed the wall coming out of turn 4. He finished 11th not bad for the 4th time ever racin'.

LETSGORACIN.NET and the UMRA King of the TQ Midgets have a tradition of having the drivers sign flags that are then given to fans in the grandstands at each race.

And, Just when you think things can't get any better for the TQ racing series you find out that Rick Bailey is headed from Texas with his accomplished driver Anton Hernandez to compete with the UMRA King of the TQ Midgets July 8th - July 14.  I hear they have a real powerhouse team that has locked them in!   And, don't forget we have Dave Darland driving in the July 4th race and the July 11th race.  But your tickets and strap in this racing season is just heating up!

I copied this from David Root's facebook, please read what he wrote below;

T'S FINALLY HERE! One of the top five coolest things I've ever had the opportunity to do in my 22 years was design this hot wheels original car while I was an intern at Mattel last summer. It was really an honor to get to design my own hot wheel that is now on store shelves! Huge thanks to @hotwheels_ryu and @kaidohouse for bringing me on board as an intern and working with me the whole summer.#hotwheels #hotwheelspics #hotwheelscollectors#rootbrothers

Matt WHO?  Arrignton and don't forget it #76 has been laying low this season and comes out of the woodwork for Twin Cities Raceway Park. He just about TAMED the TWIN with finishing second in the FEATURE!  Oh, and second in his Heat.  Oh, boy the excitement is building in the TQ series.  Keep you eye on this hard charger!

When you smack the wall at Twin Cities Raceway Park, avoiding a TQ out of control in front of you!

Meet the Twin Cities Raceway Park Dominator!  Troy Clark 11c, has tamed the TWIN over and over again!  Listen to his interview and you will realize that he is a great driver and a great person.  Before I even got to the track I had many fans ask me to interview Troy.  Just happens he won his heat and feature so we had a lot to talk about!

Matt Arrington, Jason Setser, Jason Goff, before race at Twin Cities Raceway Park.  These 3 ended up finishing in the TOP 3 in the feature!  They have a lot in common.  FAST FAST FAST!  I'd say hang out with these guys if you want to learn how to tame the TWIN!

Jason Setser #12s won Heat Race 3 and placed 2nd in the feature.  Jason is currently 2nd in the points standings!  He gives credit to Tim Lynch for his Fast TQ!

Nick Speidel # 35 won the second Heat for the UMRA King of the TQ Midgets at Twin Cities Raceway Park!  He led much of the feature and finishing fourth.  He is currently 7th in the points standings.  Nick is the mentor for Rookie Schyler Brown.  He gave the kid a chance to drive a TQ for his first time at the end of the 2015 season.  Nick is from Muncie Indiana. He started racing at the age of 5. Nick has won multiple championships with clentching the MTQRL and the UMRA championship in both in the same year. He is modest when asked about his accomplishments and just says he does the best he can.  But, I plan on catching up with his mom Diane Speidel and getting a list of his accomplishments.  His most proud accomplishment is no doubtt in his daughter Skylar.  Nicks, sponsor is HD Appliance.  His  crew members:  Skylar Rose, Kimmie, Dustin, June, Richard, Bailey, Alex (Skull Crusher Crew).

Thank You for Visiting!

Twin Cities Raceway Park re-opened 6.11.16

Jason Setser #12s won the first race on the UMRA King of the TQ Midgets racing schedule for 2016, (Brownstown)  I don't know a lot about this driver, except he is modest and I can't get him to brag on himself at all!  I know when the word got out that he was competing in the TQ series there was a lot of rumble about how freakin' awesome he is and how he would give all of them a run for their money!  I hope to accumulate the stats on Jason's driving history.  I believe there is a story there.  And, so  far I would have to say he is a great driver and is a real great person!

Freaky Fast!

Jason Goff can't be beat, he has won the last 3 UMRA King of the TQ Midget races this year.

The UMRA King of the TQ Midgets are joining efforts with the Fair Board to raise money for the Tony Stewart Foundation on that night. Tony will not be driving a TQ this year as he has in the past but he will be signing autographs!

From Online to Ontrack, Rookie Schyler (Sky)  Brown #10 did just that.  He started  his driving career in a TQ for the first time at Brownstown funfest 2015.  He missed hot laps and had to start the heat without a practice.  He managed to hang in there and keep up with the pack.  Not bad for an online only racer!  Schy has been racing since 4 years old but only online.  Over the years he has managed to develope online skills which qualified him to race in leagues with the best of the best around the world, Christopher Bell, Kyle Larson, Anton Hernandez are a few that he met online before in person.  Nick Speidel stepped up and put Schy in his TQ.  (Brownstown Funfest) That is something that Schyler will forever be grateful  for.  I must admit Nick seemed relieved after the feature that night.  Nick won and Schyler parked it without damage.  Win Win for the Speidel team.  Schyler is currently 15th in the points standings and his best feature finish was at Twin Cities (11th)  in his 3rd ever feature!     Sponsors:  Mentor Nick Speidel, KRJ Racing Products, Fehrman's Wash and Repair, Tim's Wrecker Service, and STIDA.COM (Racers Insurance).  Pit Crew, Mark Brown, Jack Pippin, Kimmie Williams, Kent Lane. Look for Schyler #10 in his newly painted neon yellow/black TQ!

Fan Favorite Troy Clark 11c.  How do I know?  Well, when people reading my web page know that I am going to a race and ask me to interview a driver that is not even in the  series I follow!  Now, that is a fan favorite!

The racers and fans waited for weeks for the Twin Cities Raceway Park to re-open.  The track promoter Rick Robinson made an executive decision early in the season to close the track for much needed repairs.  The racers ventured out to other tracks to feed their need for speed.  But, they were happy to return to their home track on June 11th.
